So my weekends are usually reserved for fun time with my besties, because I see my roommates every day. I usually throw a party on Friday night, because I am cool and have an apartment with a beer pong table, unlike all my dorm-y friends. Saturday is spent recapping the night before, and Sunday is spent recovering.
This weekend, however, the party was elsewhere. Which was fine with me, because I needed time to regroup from last weekend's 72-hour marathon birthday celebration. It was a great time, with some great people. Lots of inebriated fun had by all. Although I have to say, I have not been as drunk this year as I have wanted to be. I've definitely been drunk, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I need that one night of complete blotto, just to get it out of my system.
Saturday was Homecoming at the ol' alma mater. So I dressed in my garb and went to the game. Or went to the alumni tent for my free tshirt and then wandered around with my peeps.
But then, THEN I saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, which was great. Great great great. Here's why: Michael Cera, Kat Dennings, Ari Graynor, Vampire Weekend, other great music, NYC, the guy from Spring Awakening, gay guys being awesome and hilarious, and sexual activity in a recording studio, next to a Fender Strat. Classy. I give it a solid 9.3 out of 10. So you know it's good. Also, I find it amusing that Michael Cera plays possibly the most awkward human beings ever in his movies, yet in , Juno, Bleeker is described as being "good in....chair", and in Nick and Norah, Nick gives Norah her first-ever O-gasm. Lesson learned: awkward boys = great in bed. Or chair. Or couch, as the case may be.
But I thought this was a really great film for Michael Cera, a little bit of a step away from his other roles. Instead of being a wide-eyed, naive innocent, just experiencing what seemed like everything for the first time, Nick seems to pick up a few years later. He's been there, done that, and is feeling pretty bitter and jaded about the whole thing. It's not all comedy and one-liners for him. He's hung up on his ex, yet simultaneously pining for this new girl. Speaking of said new girl, let's hear it for Kat Dennings. I've loved her for years, and here she is in her first break-out role. Let's hope this opens more doors for her in the future, because I thought she was great as Norah. She was insecure, she was quirky, she was real. And funny too.
Wow, so much for talking about my weekend. Any mention of TV or movies turns into my own personal review. Oh well, deal with it.
So after the movie, me and Jenna and Amanda bonded over some Weggies food, and then had a sleepover in my freezing cold apartment. Good times, good times. I love those girls.
Also, in random news, albums I downloaded today:
-Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist Soundtrack
-Once Soundtrack
-OMFGG Songs From Gossip Girl Vol. 1
More on these later.

Cast of Characters
These are the people you will hear about in this blog. These are the most important people in my life, the possibly in the world. Let's go.
Amanda: Rock star in her own right. She and I decided to start blogging again after a meaningful conversation about our teenage livejournals. She is loud and spunky, and is secretly a crazy hippie and/or burnt out lounge singer trapped in Elle Woods' body.
Jenna: The nicest person you will ever meet. Also a drunk philosopher and poet, a la Sylvia Plath, when she is intoxicated. Or just feeling silly. Or just being Jenna. Will one day write a tell-all of scandalous childhood stories, entitled "The Indian in the Vagina".
Chris: The coolest person you will ever meet. Total spazz. Would rather be living in the 70s, flailing about at some outdoor rock concert, or smoking weed in the streets of Holland. Does a mean heatwave. Has a simply precious boyfriend named Shane who is, in so many ways his complete opposite, but in many other ways his clone.
Jhole: Best friend since sixth grade. Moved in together after going to different colleges. Token Asian friend. Obsessed with Sleeping Beauty, Hello Kitty, and Ryan Gosling. Loves dino nuggets just as much as I do. The only person I know who is just as silly and random and childish and indecisive as I am.
Cuppy: Other roommate. Jhole's friend from college. Not one of my besties, but relevent to this character list. Thinks I'm awesome. Is the dude of the apartment. Not actually a dude.
Other names you will hear thrown around: Jeff, Brad, Courtney, Futter, Anthony, Kaylee, Matt, Pete, Mike, and other randoms I can't think of right now. All are awesome. I only associate with awesome people.
Oh, and Mom, Dad, sister Gretchen, black-sheep brother PJ, his soul-sucking wife Michelle, and their adorable kids Jenna and Joshua.
Study this, there will be a test later.

So this is my blog. The consistency of my blogging cannot be predicted now. But with any luck, it will be a lot more consistent than my entertainment blogging for the Courier.
So this is the deal. As it says in my description, I am Colleen, I am 22, and as of right now, unemployed. That will hopefully change very soon. I live in an apartment with two roommates: Jhole and Cuppy. They are both PT students in grad school, while I am a college grad with a degree in Communications/Journalism. A lot of good that's done me. But more on Jhole and Cuppy later.
I moved out of my parent's house in small town America after graduation and returned to my college town so I could still hang out with my college friends, and have a little more job opportunity. Again, a lot of good that's done me.
I occupy my time now by trying to look like I have a life until I get a job. I have written so many cover letters and sent out so many resumes in the past several months it is sickening. I've only had one job interview, and that was a month ago and I still haven't heard back from them. Lame.
Other than that, I pass the time by watching random daytime television, playing Susie Housewife, writing random stories for my friends, writing random stories for myself, annnnd surfing ye olde Internet. You know, that old thing.
Also, I don't drive. This is a crucial point when considering just how sad my life is. I can't go anywhere on my own, so I have to wait till my roommates come home to play with me.
This is boring me immensely. The details of my life are irrelevent. Well, not the details, just the backstory. On to bigger and better things.
